Adam West original Batman movie, that is. Own it on DVD. Made a mistake of playing it straight and not having the *BAM!* and *PoW!* effects like the TV show did. Made it just bad, instead of good bad. Worth a peak though just for the villains. Ain't not better Penguin than Burgess Meredith. And Lee Meriwether is always worth looking at *groooowwel*

Fuckers, never mind, had the wrong movie listing in the online TV guide

Though it is the original Keaton one, which of course has the best Joker ever. But now I'm gonnna have to watch the orginal one instead.

anything would top the Adam West movie, including NOT turning on the TV.

I know, they really should have done the sound and graphics effects. It would have made the movie. Without them it's just sad.

For all the europeans:

Batman came up to me and he hit me over the head with a vase and he went "T'PAU!" I said "Don't you mean KAPOW?" He said "No, I've got china in my hand."

I'm pretty sure that in the climactic battle these FX are there. I remember someone saying those KAPOW things weren't in the movie, so when I was watching it, it struck me as odd to see them appear all of a sudden...

And how can you say they played it straight? Did you SEE the SHARK???

All I know is I *own* the DVD, and it don't have the special effects. The 'Holy Special Edition Batman' edition, heh. Maybe I'll watch it again later, didn't get around to it the other night, and gonna do the three LotR movies this weekend. And it's funny because the DVD packaging has the PoW! and BaM! stuff written all over it, even on the DVD itself.

Australian actor, was in backdoor mountain. Has been in a bunch of Australian films, and is pretty good. But not joker material IMHO, but he might surprise people I guess.

I doubt that is a real picture of him as the Joker from The Dark Knight...

These on the other hand are genuine:

And where.... ....is the Batman?

Ledger is an inspired piece of casting for the Joker. He gave an incredible performance in Brokeback Mountain, despite what you girly-men and your delicate sensibilities might think of the movie itself.

Heh. Umm, no. If I'm gay, my life has been a huge and hugely expensive facade considering the wife of 15 years and two kids.

Gyllenhaal does make my nether-regions go all tingly, though. ;)

He could be a great actor, still no Jack Nicholson. Jack just, simply, was, the Joker for me. I liked the first Bale one, depsite their continuing fucking with the timeline. Dude just doesn't strike me as Joker though. But then, the Joker's been redone so many times over the years, probably more than Batman himself.

We'll see. I loved the first Burton Batman too and definitely thought Nicholson was the star of that movie. But I think Ledger is a great actor and with the right script and Nolan directing we could see a far more physical Joker mixing it up with the Bat (thinking Killing Joke-style fight).

Nah, just one secure in his sexuality and mature enough to not let a phobia scare him away from an otherwise great movie.

In this one I think the Joker has the hawts for the Batman from some stuff I have read. So maybe Heath was a good choice.

It's going to be difficult taking Ledger seriously. Nicholson played such a good role that it will be difficult to see anyone else as the Joker.

Yeah ok, enjoy trying on all your wife's clothes while you're in that closet, buddy.
