View Full Version : Call of Duty: World at War
So I am a big WWII buff and love any game about WWII. COD4 is still one of my favorite games and I always dreamed of a WWII game run by the COD4 engine.
And yesterday my dreams came true... I havent gotten it yet but am running down to gamestop tomorrow after class to pick it up.
So has anybody played it yet? I honestly CANNOT wait.:V::love::V:
I saw it the other day, but honestly I don't think I could go back to a WWII COD after having all those cool modern weapons in COD4. I liked the WWII COD games, but I've just gotten burnt out on them and after playing COD4 I'll find myself wishing I had some good night vision and red dot scops on my WWII weapons. :D
I was kind of hoping for a COD5 using a lot more of the AC-130. I don't know how many times I replayed that level in COD4 and told myself "Man I wish they made a game just using this" ofcourse with a bit of ground troop play in it also though.

It made me sad that they desided to go back to WW2. I really liked how COD4 was. in my case it was the sniper maps that made it awesome. maybe they'll go back modern for COD6...
I actually didn't like COD4 going into modern times, so a throw back to WW2 would be great.
I just hope they got rid of the Halo-esque health regen system. I really dislike that feature in video games. As unrealistic as health kits were, it still makes more sense than hiding behind a crate for 15 seconds and being fully healed.

Sounding like a broken record, I'll pick it up once it's on sale. Gotten decent reviews and looks good. Just glad it's in the Pacific since WW2 Europe is pretty played out at this point.

I heard the combat was fun, but that it was pretty easy to break the scripting.
But then, I talk to mainly game developers, and we find ways to break games by being, well, developers ;)
