Cyber City: OEDO is pretty fun too. Imagine X-Files on steroids in a sci-fi setting with high quality art/animation. :)

Kenjin (or was it Kenshin?): The Vagabond is also good. Has some pretty gratuitous moments, but has a bit of an arthouse-movie feel to it. Non-sci-fi, so it's very different from most "mainstream" anime/manga.

The Golden Boy is a funny manga movie, though it's got some adult material in it - not really hentai, but certainly R rated.

Kenshin: the Vagabond??? you talkin bout 2 separate movies?

Oh and you have to see the Kenshin OAV (OVA or whatever). 4 episodes called Samurai X in the US. They are the best :)

Er, after checking Amazon.com I think that should be Samurai X - Betrayal (Rurouni Kenshin) instead. I saw it on a movie channel, and I think it was listed as "Kenshin: The Vagabond", but I've already noticed they just tend to include the name of the series instead of the actual episode so that's probably it.

Well i'm not sure bout this but i think Rurouni means Wanderer, which could be translated to vagabond i suppose. Kenshin means Devotion tho so i dunno... hehe.

Yea there are 2 different series. I'm not sure if they are seasons or not but 2 separate storylines. The first one is the one you're thinkin of, 13 episodes, centers around Parn and Deedlit.

There is a 2nd series called "Chronicals of the heroic knight" and it centers around a guy named Spark (i think). Spark is a knight that looked up to parn and sort of learned from him. Its not as good as the first series. If you really loved the first series you may wanna check out the 2nd one just cause it's more of the same type of stuff. Dragons and sword fighting and such. I hope i'm not mixing any of the characters around but in the 2nd series the main characters are Spark (a more flambouyant version of Parn). Shiris (female warrior, friend of Orson). Orson (man who is possessed by a demon Ogre and goes berserk whenever Shiris is in danger). Neese (daughter of the woman who's married to Slayde from the first series, cant think of her name). It's not a bad series, i have the entire thing cause i got the VHS tapes for very very cheap. The dubbing is awful so look for the subtitled one.

Well, Personally, I've just started really looking for Anime movies. So I'd have to say that Akira is my favorite. It's got an awesome storyline, animation and... blood. Don't ask me about my fascination with blood ok? It's just so much fun to watch it fly across the screen like that. Cartoon blood can do amazing things. It's very versitile. ;)
And, keeping with the fun blood theme; Ninja Scrolls. Go watch it right now.

You know one thing I do not like about anime?, the frequency of complete redoings of a series, like Tenchi Muyo, in which the first series I liked, then they do a complete and separate universe which was almost 100% different, which I HATED,

I couldn't stand Fist of the North Star because the anime looks like crap.

That's one of the first manga movies I've seen (was still a bit of a youngun back then); the art wasn't too brilliant - bit rough, not half as polished as more recent movies - but it was pretty entertaining and damn violent.

there is a hentai series being released on DVD soon called Wordsworth. Anybody seen this? I have some pictures from that series and the CG is just incredible. It sucks that such an incredibly awesome CG artist like whoever does that is doing hentai but i still wanna check it out. I dont mind hentai, just not my prefered type of anime.

I did see a pirated version (with subtitles) of End of Evangelion and Death and Rebirth. Quite awesome, but just as weird as the end of the series. It's more dramatic, graphic, and violent.
The final Angel is revealed and... there's no way you can imagine what it is (I'm still wondering...)

I can't wait to get the final release!!!!

the CG art in words worth is just crazy awesome. I would like to use some of those character designs in my own drawings. (and no i'm not refering to hentai drawings, since i dont do anything of those, well not anymore anyway heh)

Damn, I wish I could draw as well as those Japanese artists. I have always loves the look of anime. I used to draw a long time ago till I got bored of it. I used to draw comic book characters like the Predator, Darkwing Duck, and more that I can't even remember. It has been so many years since I have even looked at my drawings. I also used to draw game characters. I also gave up because I never thought I had that much talent in drawing. I usually looked at an image ang drew it. I really never could think of a character, then draw it. I have no idea where to even start drawing well when it comes to making up a character. When drawing, I never scetched before making the character, I just drew the thing. I know somewhere I have all my hundreds of drawings.

i've been drawing all my life. Unfortunately i still suck at it lol, but i have picked up a couple tips i suppose. Alot of people find it most easy to start by drawing basic geometric shapes. Basically a bunch of ovals that represent parts of the body like the head and shoulders. Then you erase the lines, leaving a faint trace of them. They you start with the head and draw eyes, hair, etc.

When i was a kid i used to draw all the damn time. Thing i drew the most of was probably mega man. I came up with so many original mega man bosses that i actually guessed a couple that came out in later games lol. Blade man, skull man, and a couple others i had drawn sketches for, before the games came out that had em. I should sue Capcom ;). Other than video games i drew about marvel characters like wolverine and other xmen. Only got into anime about 6 years ago when i lived in michigan. I remember seeing Akira and thinking it was just too depressing so i didn't watch the whole thing lol (it was on Saturday Anime on the sci fi channel). When i try to draw anime i usually dont like the way it turns out.

Since I have gotten more into anime over the years I have longed to draw. Since I was little, I have always dreamed of being an awesome drawer and video game maker.
