Just curious...mine was something by Blondie in the late 70s...can't remember which one, though...think it may have been "Heart of Glass" (which I still have here :D). Yes, I was about 4 years old, and my mum gave me the money so I could buy it. :)
Anyone else?

My first CD was from The Beatles - Please Please me, and I still have it. And when I bought it, there were only 100 titles on CD here in Brazil that time.
Tape??? Don't remember anymore :D:D:D
Vinil??? never bought one :)
First CD was Nirvana - Unplugged In New York

the south park cd..... and i regret it, overhyped pos
then green day, green day.... and that's all i've bought
I can remember...
Live - Throwing Copper
I bought it when I was in 8th grade. I still like this CD a lot.:)
Hmmmm if you mean bought with my own money then i think it would have to be one of the Gin Blossoms cds. Or maybe something i dont remember...

Ahhh yes. My first record. Quite a painful moment that turned out to be. First record I ever bought...sadly and unfortunately was New Kids on the Block's "Hangin' Tough". After I found out from peers that they sucked epic ass, my sister and I twerled out all of the tape inside the cassette, spread it all over my cul-de-sac and let a few cars run over it. Then, I put all of the tape back in the cassette and played it...and they sounded just like Alvin and the Chipmunks! Oh but that was great justice! Out!

First CD was the Final Fantasy VII OST (actually 4 CDs).
First tape was a Soundgarden one, I think. Can't remember which.

The Police, Synchronicity, when it came out in'83. I had a few dubbed Queen tapes, but that was the first one I purchased when I was about 7...I still have that tape, and it still works.
First CD was REM Green sometime in high school...I'd had the tape for years prior, and decided to start switching over...
Oh, yeah, vinyl was REM Life's Rich Paegent. Should toss that in, too...

First album I ever owned was Fleetwood Mac: Rumers. My sister who is two years older then me bought it for me so I would quit stealing her Sweet: Desolation Boulavard<?) album (quit possibly the greatest rock album ever made) and the Eagles: Hotel california.
The first album I ever bought myself was the Beatles: Sgt. Peppers Loney Hearts Club Band, sometime after getting Rumers, bought it a yeard sale for $.25 as it had a small hole punched through it, it was a while before I ever heard the ending of the first songs on either side :D
My second album was Rush A Farwell To Kings, and then Black Sabbath Black Sabbath, and, according to my parents, it was all down hill from there :D
Before that, music was background noise for me, didn't realy care one way or another, grew up listening to my Moms Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, Arlo Guthrie, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and some CCR :) Good music *sigh*

Sorry, I just don't remember. I think one reason I don't remember is because I *think* my first purchase was throught the BMG music club and I got 8 for a penny or something. I know Billy Joel was my first "series" of stuff I purchased.
The first song I ever heard that I remember was Queen something. I heard the whole album. I thought it was evil, lol.

All vinyl and played on a POS turntable listening on headphones...my introduction to the world of music.:)

No, that would be the "Let's smoke a joint, drop some acid and screw until we're blind" music.
That's what I loved about growing up in the 70's, all the drugs and sex of the 60's with non of the angst, and none of the Aids of the 80's *sigh*, never be another generation like it.
