Nah, I respect RATM if for nothing more than their musical tallent. All the sound you hear in their songs are nothing more than 1 guitar, 1 bass, and 1 set of drums.

Their guitar player is a f*cking genious! He makes music with feedback.... just incredible ideas.

I'm not against harder rock or anything cause i like Linkin' park, but i just despise KoRn. In my H.S. everybody used to walk around saying they liked Korn so they would be accepted and people would like em. That didn't matter to me since none of my huge group of friends liked korn.

Ya know, mostly all I listen to now is older stuff. The same stuff I listened to when I was 15-21 mostly. I haven't heard much new music I can get into. It all sounds so damned plastic now.

Not really either in the Case of Incubus.

If you listen to the words... all his songs from younger were angry songs. Mostly pissed off at how women treated him. Then, the lead singer fell in love with some french chick, and all their songs changed.

hehe... no way dude, theres no way in hell im gonna like linkin park, not even for a little while, i noticed how extremely bad they are not through lyrics, but seein a lil screamin pansy and a lil rappin pansy, and a turntable guy pullin samples, all hiding their lack of musical skills behind cool looking videos...

when i said what i said, i meant "i like music that challenges me" as in try to understand it, see the cool melodies, harmonies, rythms, diffrent times for diffrent instruments... ok that can get too technical or sick, agreed, but i like the Ramones too :P

Oh ok I see. I guess I got confused... I just think lyrics are a huge part of a good band... otherwise you have to have extremely great music to get my attention. Rammstein is one of those, I dont care about their lyrics, their music just kicks ass.

The guitar guy does look weird... but he's pretty good.

I'm just a sucker for catchy tunes, so I can usually live with the "popular" music and ignore lyrics and singers. The term "Euro-house" is new to me by the way, I just call it all dance or techno. And since I really don't give a damn about lyrics (except when they're intentionally funny, e.g. by Weird Al/Monty Python/Andre van Duin...) I like most dance music with a nice piano melody.

Rammstein is one of the very few hardrock bands I can actually stand, but I only know about a few songs of theirs... I think the recent single "Ich will" from the "Mutter" album is excellent though, very nice blend between real and synthesized instruments.

You just have to look outside what everyone says about some music and listen to it. A lot of ppl hate rap, and i used to, after riding with my friend a couple of times, i now love to drive with it, but not listen to it on a regular basis, Rock gets me pumped for like Hockey or Soccer games. It all pretty much depends on ur lifestyle i guess

I used to like the "mainstream" rap back in the early nineties, when it A) wasn't too serious and very inoffensive and B) the rappers weren't completely obnoxious, violent "gangsta" pricks.

I like rock, just not hardrock (or not very much, at least). Guns 'n Roses, Alice Cooper etc I can very much live with because their music usually has a real melody rather than a vague guitar riff and they sing instead of scream in a very rough voice (these day's the ability to actually sing decently seems to be significantly less important than it used to...). Also, like bt already stated: shouting (or more accurately: cursing & swearing) a lot isn't big or clever.

I definitely listen to music and not to what people say: otherwise I'd severely detest the majority of pop and adore "non-commercial" music. That said, some catchy tunes I DO loathe, simply because they are catchy in a most annoying fashion (e.g. it's actually completely asinine but still keeps playing over and over in your head). "Blue" by Eiffel 65 springs to mind...
