Can the mainstream music industry get any more pathetic? ive been going thru the "scorecard" of what went on, i didnt even know there were so many categories!!

Album of the year - A movie soundtrack!!!! this is hilarious, i wouldnt even like this if that album was filled with music i love...

AAAAhhh... i dont know, this is kind of a rant, but anyway, i cant stand the fact that people have to make an effort in order to hear good music, it should be more available... and this crap sure doesnt help...

/end rant

PS: plz dont move this to the river, i want people to talk about this. Thanx.

I'm only gonna say this mar. When was the last time, someone you thought actually deserved it, won a grammy? Maybe MJ for thriller? You dont need to go any further than the year metallica lost to jethro tull in the metal category to sum up the grammys.

I stopped watching the shammys about two years ago when they had a band that had been out for 4 years win the new artist of the year award. LOL!

They were one of my favorite bands and I had been listening to them for 4 years, and somehow they got popular so they were a "new artists". what a load of sh*T!

Heheh, there was a great headline after the lip-synch scandal:

Milli Vanilli, Phoni Baloni

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the "Best New Artist" award - I mean look at these bombs:

1976: Starland Vocal Band
1977: Debby Boone
1978: A Taste Of Honey
1982: Sheena Easton
1984: Culture Club
1985: Cyndi Lauper
1988: Jody Watley
1990: Milli Vanilli (revoked)

among others..... :P :puke:

perfect example jedi. I am fed up with u2 winning rock categories, they won best pop song/single whatever award. CMon now im tired of hearing em anyways. Lenny Kravitz should pet put in pop too, he just plays a guitar, but sings same stuff as N*Crap and Backstreet Fagets

I just watched the last hour that I taped last night with the little lecture one of the acadamy members did on the "VIRUS" of music down loading. :knob: He explained that they recruited three college students to D/L as much music as they could for the two days before the show and that in that 48hr period they D/L 6000 songs :knob: WTF did they each have a personal T1 line?

that downloading speech was pathetic too...

but im complaining about the whole industry, not just the crapawards.... mainstream music is so stupid these days that i would hate to be a teen coming close to music now, theres no way these people are gonna listen to good music in the future if they get started on that...

before, at least when i was younger, choices were available, you could go from utter crap to really good stuff, and it would all be "mainstream" (sorta)... now theres NOTHING worth lisening out there...
