Mandrake will take care of it. The real question here is if you have some 5 GBs of hard disk space available.
If you don't want to tamper with your windows installation get another hard disk and install linux there.
Linux uses the MBR (Master Boot Record) to install their launching programs (LILO or GRUB). Come to think of it... I don't remember if Mandrake has that GRUB option.
I don't like LILO, anyway. It's too much of a hassle if you want to upgrade your kernel afterwards.
Woot posting from mandrake 8.1

Which windows version are you trying to use? NTFS partitions require certain tweaks in your kernel to be properly recognized.
Unfortunately, I don't use NTFS. So I can't help you any further.

I have been booting ,Mandrake,Caldera and win 98,for about 6 months now, everything went very smooth for me . I think I am gonna go for Slackware soon tho ,it will force me to learn more about Linux than some distros, also have old sko unix 3.1 but no drivers for my current hardware,,,,,:)
