go to run and type "sfc /scannow"

You could try going into the Device manager and removing "Audio Codecs" from the "Sound video and game controllers" branch then reinstall it. I've never actually tried this, so it may actually require that you reinstall your sound card drivers afterwards.
To reinstall, the audio codecs after you remove them could be as simple as hitting F5 in device manager and seeing if it will autodetect and reinstall on it's own. If it doesn't, then use "Add New Hardware" in the control panel. If it doesn't detect anything, and prompts you with "Have you already connected this hardware to your computer?" answer yes, click next and select "Add new hardware device" at the bottom of the list on the next screen and click next. On the next screen select "Install the hardware that I may manually select from a list (advanced)" and click next. On the next screen select "Sound, video and game controllers" from the list and click next. Under the (Standard system devices) select "Audio Codecs" and click next. Click next again on the next screen. Once it's done, click finish and restart your computer.
If that doesn't work, it may be an issue with your soundcard drivers or CD-ROMs inability to read a particular CD.
