I made a 3D animation (one of many to come) for my comm tech, adobe premiere video editing project... What I have decided is that I am planning on trying to recreate some lifelike scenery with 3D imaging... anyways... here is a simple one i started out with...

btw i excessively high-lighted the water on purpose...
here is an image to give an idea of the complexity of the scene

another bigger file of the wireframe from a wider angle...

and now the actual animation
You will need DivX codec 5.0 in order to view the movie... I didn't feel like posting the original 30MB movie :D

To answer flash 2000: yea i'm sort of in the creative mood lately
and to answer sonik's question: I learnt everything I know by experimentation, tutorials and thats about it... didn't need no stinkin classes!
Could you tell me where some good 3d studio max tutorials for a beginner are?

yes i am using the rig as described... it runs quite well with 192mb of ram altho having alot more would reduce probs with the scratch disk.... i'm using 3D Studio MAX R4... the latest version...

I personally like to buy the big 80$-300$ books....you can generally find them at Barnes and Knoble or Books-A-Million, best reference material for the money, and usually comes with a project CD or two.
