Keitaro Urashima is a 20 year old guy who's trying to get into Tokyo U, one of the most prestigious schools in japan. He has failed twice and his parents want him to try something else so he can stop freeloading. He decides to get a job to make some money and his grandmother offers him a job at her apartment complex. He doesn't realize until he gets there (and really makes a bad impression on the tenants) that it's an all girl dorm.
Story: 8/10
So far the story seems pretty consistent. It revolves around Keitaro trying to get into Tokyo U and meeting the girl of his dreams, while he tries to manage this all girl dorm. He always manages to get himself into bad situations so he has a hard time getting the tenants to trust him.
Animation: 9/10
This is one of the most beautifully animated anime series i have ever seen. Character designs are just awesome and animation is very fluid. There is alot of slapstick cliche anime expressions used throughout the series as well. You'll see the well known rain drop, red face blushing, tear waterfalls, etc.
Sound/Music: 8/10
There is alot of music in this series. It seems that almost the entire time some song was playing in the background. It wasn't overdone either. Music fits the mood of the story and is never overpowering to the dialog. I watched this Dvd subtitled and the voices and sound effects are just fine. I sampled the dubbed version just a bit and it was alright but i didn't like it nearly as much as subtitled.
Extras: 7/10
There are a couple of trailers for other Bandai anime films, two character bios with some cool screenshots, and a few pages from Keitaro's Diary. Keitaro likes to draw and he draws alot of stuff throughout the series in his diary.
