I know some of you will decide whether to buy this anime or not depending on this review, so I will try to be as objective as possible.

Story (6/10): The premise is actually a good one. God created this land and the two tribes who inhabit it: Light and Shadow. He also created a Words Worth Tablet which will enable a Chosen One to "understand everything". The Chosen One must be a Light and Shadow child.
But the WW Tablet was destroyed and war has ravaged the land since then. The story covers the last battles of that war and the fulfillment of the prophecy.
What went wrong? The actual storytelling falls short of taking advantage of the whole setup. Dozens of side stories could be developed, but the anime merely sticks to the main story. The characters never really develop a personality we can identify with.
The adult content could be ommited in order to tell an epic story in the Lodoss War fashion.

6/10, IMHO.

Animation (8/10): Don't expect a ground breaking animation (Akira) or a personal style from the director (Ghost in the Shell). The action sequences are just average and the anime abuses of the infamous "looping" technique. (The same sequence repeated over and over again in the sword fights).
As I said before, there are no surprising visual effects (Macross Plus), no special coloring techniques (Gasaraki), no breathtaking landscapes (Lodoss War) and no spectacular costumes (Tenchi Muyo! or Oh My Godess!).
On the other hand, the adult content is not nearly as repulsive as Urotsukidoji, not as perverted as La Blue Girl or Twin Angels, and its not as gratuitous as... (I'm not telling which one). But the anime is adult rated and THEY MEAN IT.
On the positive side, the animation is quite professional and the characters don't show any differences along the 5 DVDs, (this was VERY noticeable in The Hakkenden).

The animation is OK and that's it.
8/10

Sound/Music (5/10): I can recall there's music all along the series, but I can't remember it. The music score doesn't have ANY emotional impact whatsoever. The music goes fast durind the battles and slows down when there's some character interactions. (During the erotic scenes the music seems to disappear due to the characters' "acting").
I saw the whole series in Japanese with subtitles, so I can't comment yet on the dubbing (but what would you expect from a pr()n star with ZERO acting skills???)

The rest of the sound is just like the animation: merely OK. The water sounds only when someone falls into it. There's no wind sound or footsteps. All the sword fights sound the same just as the soldiers' battle cries.

5/10

Extras (2/10): That's quite harsh, I know. But here's the Extras List:
Words Worth Photo Gallery (includes some adult screenshots).
Jenna Jameson Featurette (adult solo acting).
Jenna Jameson Photo Gallery (adult).
Nikki Dial Photo Gallery (adult).
Along the 5 DVDs, the pr()n stars' photo galleries are all the same. But JJ's featurette is different in each DVD.

The DVDs have Japanese and English sound tracks, MANY previews of other hentai movies and their Web Site URL.

2/10: Sorry, but those extras only try to justify the excessive price of this anime.

Overall (6.5/10): Another factor in the overall score is the price. These are 5 DVDs ($20 US dlls each) with merely 26-28 minutes of actual animation. We're talking about 2 hours and 15 minutes for almost $100 US dlls.!!!!!

The story is good (it's quite original), but it's not worth $100. The animation, the sound... even the adult content (I'm not counting some pseudo-acting by JJ which I didn't ask for in the first place), are not worth $100.

So this is my veredict: DO NOT buy this anime for more than $50 dlls.

i am by no means an expert on hentai anime but isn't it all usually just a bunch of looped scenes over and over again. I've seen some episode of Urotsikidoji (sp), some episode called Rei 3 Countdown or something and some La Blue Girl. All of em had excessive looping it seems. Funny thing is that i saw the first two when i was 15 i think. Rented them at a video store where the clerks didnt know better. Heck, i didn't know better :/ I just thought they were like really violent and had nudity. Didn't know they were pornos. Wordsworth really caught my eye but it doesn't seem like something i could get into. The lack of character depth is the kicker for me, i like to get to know the characters after relating to them for several episodes.

The main female character, (supposedly in love with the main male character), interacts with him two times: in the first DVD she slams him for being weak and in the last DVD she f***s him. But all along she says she is in love with him... yeah, right...
BTW, I don't consider myself a hentai expert... :D :D no, really...

No... it's the deedlit-looking gal.

But the cat girl hits the jackpot....

Man, if you wanna see the cat girl into some nasty 1-on-1 action, get the 2nd DVD.

I took'em with a linux DVD player called Xine. It's unsupported and let me tell you... it shows!!
I copied the DVDs into my HD to avoid the hassle of taking out the discs from their hiding spot
Linux supports raw DVD playback (only the *.vob file), whereas Windows requires the whole disc with its encryption keys (bastiges!!!).

hehe the hastle of trying to rip dvds is just too much trouble
i remember i tried ripping 3x3 eyes. I got a few pieces of it ripped and it took up 5 gigs of space, i never did compress em and eventually just deleted em cause i bought the 3x3 eyes collectors edition.

I am not paying $70-$100 for only 5 episodes. The storyline did not sound up to par, IMHO. Maybe if it was $30-$40, I might consider it.

Just a final comment:

I finally brought myself to watch the series in dubbed english. Most of the actors do a very good job. Even Nikki Dial. But Jenna Jameson is THE SINGLE WORST DUBBIN' ACTRESS I'VE EVER HEARD!!!! All her alleged "acting" seems to be a series of disconnected phrases with ZERO emotion and a ZERO relation with the circumnstances surrounding her character. (Her character is about to be killed and raped and all she says is "no, no... stop" like "shaken, not stirred"). They shouldn't have bothered paying some pr()n actress to do the dubbing and the series' price surely would have been lower.

Once again, Words Worth may well be worth your time, but not your money.
