Macross Plus: Movie Edition (DVD)

What? You need something else to convince you :D? Here ya go...

As opposed to other "movie editions" or "dvd editions", Macross Plus is more like the "Director's Edition": new animation, more music, more action, more drama... The story was retold from a much more psychological point of view. There aren't so many battles, but the ones you will see are more violent and realistic. Did you ever wanted to see if Isamu and Lucy (the blonde) were "more than friends"? Did you wanted to know what happened after Isamu defeated Sharon? Have you ever wondered how the main characters looked as kids?

This movie is a perfect complement to the 4-episode series we all know. Some scenes were deleted (Isamu's arrival to Eden) and other were extended (Guld's sacrifice, Sharon's last concert).

Believe me, both the series AND the movie are worth watching over and over again.

we just got this dvd in our store. Looks nifty but i've never been a big macross fan. Maybe i should get it anyway heh

Hey Gibb, you will love the way the characters express their feelings, the way their emotions develop from a frozen resentment to a reborn friendship. I bet you won't be disappointed.

Wow, you mean I may actually have to watch Macross Plus again?? I thought the original 4-part series sucked ass in comparison to the original, Macross II, and Macross 7. I mean the story to me was complete utter crap and had nothin' to do w/ Alien races like the others. Maybe I'll check it out, but out of all the Macross's, I hate Plus the most.

I'll just have to see how "good" this redo is.

I have learned many things though and mainly if you like Mac II, you hate Mac Plus, and if you like Mac Plus, you don't like Mac II. And almost no one has even heard of Macross 7, which IMHO opinion is the best one, but many people seem to disagree w/ that.

Hehe... The movie edition is the series "on crack". If you didn't like the series, the movie won't change your mind. I just assumed everybody loved Macross Plus. But I was mistaken :eek:

Well most everybody does, but I don't think most people have seen all of the original Macross and Macross II. Most people weren't into Anime when those things came out and kinda just picked up when Macross Plus came out as that was when Anime started getttin' really popular.
