It will be interesting when people start to fully understand the possibilities and consequences to them as consumers, and then start voting accordingly.

I'm just waiting for the Bush administration to somehow claim it will help us in the 'war' against terrorism, and therefore any critics will be helping the terrorists.

Well I just read both those articles. Interesting stuff indeed. I'm highley surprised no one here has anything to comment on this. C'mon guys... Lets give the video card sex fantasies a break for one day. I'll keep my comments and quotes from the articles to myself for now (no sense in ranting if no one's gonna listen :P).

I see reasons for concern, but I am waiting till I see it in action and then I will pass judgment myself.

The problem though, from the way I read it, is AMD and Linux won't have any choice but to support it.

Say you buy a CD burner, it has this crap built into the hardware. If the burner program you use doesn't support it, it don't work. If the company that makes the program doesn't want to support it, Microsoft doesn't certify them.

It could get sticky. I have faith that once stupid consumers realize what is involved, they will start making a noise louder then the pocketbooks of the industries. The RIAA and @ssholes like that may be able to kick big campaign contributions, but in the end, westill vote the f*ckers into office.
