Name some of their really good heavy songs. Most of the mp3's I have are ballads. The occasional ballad is cool, but I like heavy stuff. Like "The Test That Stumped Them All."

Grab their album "Awake". Probably the heaviest stuff they released, and the least, um... Cock-Rock of any of 'em.
Download either "Lie" or "The Mirror"

The cds go like this:
- When dream and day unite - 1st one, cool songs, stupid singer.
- Images and words - excellent, not a letdown in the entire thing, Take the time and Metropolis are the ultimate shit.
- Awake - Heaviest, "A mind beside itself" is 3 songs put together, and it kicks ass how the 1st one is made of riffs from all the other songs in the album...
Then the keyboard guy leaves......
- A change of seasons - 23+ minute song, AWESOME, based on "Dead poets society"
- Falling into infinity - Really cool songs, the most ballads in a single cd ever, but the rest of the songs are pretty cool, most 7 string album too...... i used to hate this cd, but im startin to really appreciate it....
- Scenes from a Memory: Metropolis pt.2 - MAAAAAN!!!!!! this is the bomb!!! concept album, its really that good, from beginnin to end, 75 minutes of extremely good music.... plenty heavy stuff like you want.
- Six degrees of inner turbulence - Disc one is songs, cool ones, i still dont find anything in that one that blows me away (except maybe the whole intro of the 1st song) - DISC 2 !!!!!! MAAAN!!!!!! again, a whole concept album, really "classical" stuff, composition rulez in this one, its gotta best written/arranged stuff they ever came up with.....
so......... get pretty much everything Wedgie, and listen in order, youll understand most of it waaaay easier :):)
(left out the live stuff)
If you like Dream Theatre, you should download some Nevermore.
Look for anything off of Dead Heart in a Dead World.
They drummer is great at solos. Thats about it.
