Well it looks like Manga decided to finally release Neon Genesis Evangelion Death and Rebirth.
I saw it at my favorite online anime store.

I have never ordered from them. I mostly order from Digital Eyes (http://www.digitaleyes.net/). I also have ordered a few DVD's from Buy.com (http://www.buy.com/).
If it's still going on, you can get it at Best Buy for 17.99.
Death and Rebirth is kind of annoyin to some peepz cause it's just a recap of the series. It does however have a few unseen scenes that make it worthwhile for collectors. (i'll probably get it :D)

Sometime I will buy the EVA perfect collection box set, Death & Rebirth & End of Evangelion (when it comes out). I have already seen End of Evangelion months ago. I hope that doesn't really spoil anything when I finally get the series.

End of Evangelion is VERY spoiling if you havent seen the series. Just try to forget it and start over from the beginning.
hmmm..
never thought of it being a recap of the series, I have not finished the TV series yet. I only have the first 5 DVD's . I still have to get the other 3. I may wait then on getting the End of Evangelion DVD.

Well, I just got it and saw it.
And there's a couple of thing worth mentioning:
Death and Rebirth is a two part movie (hence, D&R).
Evangelion: Death, is the longest of them (about one hour) and it's mostly a recap of the whole series but with some extra sequences here and there (no spoilers here, but they're very interesting).
Evangelion:Rebirth, is like a prologue to End of Evangelion. Again, I'm not posting spoilers. But if you don't see D&R before End of Eva, you will notice a BIG gap in the story at the beginning of the last movie.
IMHO, D&R is worth getting because it sets the stage for End of Eva. Unless, of course, End of Eva includes the whole Rebirth movie, which I find very unlikely.
Perhaps the people who say D&R is just a recap stopped the movie at the end of Death. It really looks like it's finished. But if you fast forward the ending titles, you will find an Intermission screen (lasts for 5 minutes) and then Rebirth begins. The whole movie runs for 115 minutes.

I'm pretty sure that End of Eva includes all of the footage from Rebirth. then again, I didn't know anything about the order I was supposed to watch the movies in, so I watched end of eva first... so Death and Rebirth got pretty boring. all in all, for me, even if Death and Rebirth has a little extra footage (like when Lilith regrows his legs), it's not enough for someone with my income (I'm unemployed) to go out and buy... even if Eva happens to be one of my fav animes.
hmmmm strange.... why isn't my signature posting right?

Just for the record, and unlikely as it seemed, that's precisely what happened.
End of Evangelion DOES include Rebirth.
