http://xbox.ign.com/news/40449.html,
There have been console add-on discs before, but those generally just required the save file to verify you owned the original, but with this, I am almost certain it will be installed on the X-Box's hd, thus leading the way for more add-on discs, and expansions, (add-on discs for console games are fine, but not if they are installed like this probably will be), and you know where that will eventually lead, with the installation of stuff like expansions, eventually you know they will start releasing patches, this stuff scares me,

addons are ok... but if console games are going to be patched, then they're no better than computers.... i know that there are different version (e.g gran turismo 2 had 3-4 different versions) but at least they weren't rushed and didn't have huge errors in them

That is what I am saying, if this add-on disc is installed like I am thinking it will be, that is the first step to games being patched, because if this starts a trend in installed expansions (on the X-Box, anyway), I doubt it will take long for the developers to attempt the "ship now, patch later" motto of the pc game industry themselves, and THAT is a scary thought, Microsoft has said they are firmly against this, and I seriously hope they stick to it,
(BTW, The Legend of Zelda: Orinaco of Time had 3 different version, Version 1.0 was all of the limited edition Gold carts, Version 1.1 were the first grey carts released along with the Gold carts, and Version 1.2 were all of the grey carts from then on, the only things changed?, a few glitches and bugs from Version 1.0 were fixed (nothing major, hell, you might never even see them unless you knew what they were, and attempted them specifically), and the color of Ganon's blood he pukes up was changed from red to green),

I can see it now:
-Wait for a minute, if I want to play Halo I first have to run the Detonator-update 3-CD...
-Oh, fuck it, let's play DOA3 instead...
-Hold on while I look for the Detonator-update 4-CD :)

First of all, it's an extras disk for the game and nothing to do with the firmware or drivers of the box.
2nd this argument is a slippery slope....if this happens then this will happen, then this will happen, and this will happen.
As an x-box owner I am not concerned.
