Need to burn a game!!!

No joke, no lies. Bear in mind, I have no issues personally with pirated software. That's not what this is about.

I've got a rather beat-up copy of System Shock 2. I love this frickin' game. But, of course, Adaptec absolutely refuses to burn me a backup! Does anybody out there know of some good software that will actually do what it claims to and burn a backup of a data cd?

I use Easy CD Creator 4, and it always burns anything (including games). :)

AMD, Its you cd burner that allows you to burn "anything", not the software.

Stupid question did you try to copy the whole CD contents onto the HDD and then burn it from there?

If you need a crack for the copy afterwards just check into altavista.

NOTE: same happened to me when I scratched the StarTrek Elite Force CD... I copied it to the hdd and cracked after installation the game and it worked..... :D

I did read your reply, but hasn't it ever happened to you that you can't copy a game even without a crack? I ran into one or two occasions where I (no idea why) had to copy the whole cd onto the hard drive, patch it there and then copy it.
I was actually adding up to your post not ignoring it hehehehehe :cool:

BTW, I tried Game Copy World to get a no-CD crack for Undying, but the download mirrors all link me back the GCW main page :confused:

Check out CloneCD. It's a great program. I can send you a copy of the restricted version. It limits a few options and such, but it works great. Just let me know. PM me or something.

I had the same problem with the Brood war Expantion for starcraft. Someone actually broke my cd. But my friend had a copy, so I barrowed it and burned it. I wasn't about to send another 10 bucks to Blizzard when the game in the store new was only 15 by that time. Whatever!!!
