What, nVidias 6 month cycle was good before, but now, just coincidently after 3dfx is driven out of business, the 6 month cycle is no longer needed? Now we need to focus on performance and use of uselss features, rather then hyping those same useless features?

Blow me, Anand. Kind of sounds like a pre-emptive <?) strike to sooth all the crap nVidia is going to take for milking the market.

KyroII is a wake up call for Nvidia.
But not enough to take them down.
It will take a technology on par with or a generation or 2 ahead of Geforce3 (ex:3dfx's buried Rampage/Sage, or whatever ATI or Matrox have up their sleeve).
Eventually Nvidia will go down like 3dfx, if not for stupid manaegment, it will be some for some other stupid reason. :D

heh, you know what I would like to see? the day when nVidia is dieing, and it sells all the 3dfx core assets to survive. Then they layoff large amounts of employes, and from that 3dfx becomes reborn...

...okay it's not likely to happen, but one can dream... :)
