So many hardware websites are doing regular articles on budget gaming machines. They almost always unanimously select some form of GeForce2 MX as the recommended video card for a budget gaming rig.
Since the demise of 3dfx and the subsequent drop in price of the VooDoo5 5500, I think that it deserves more consideration for "budget video card". These cards are far from obselete and the combination of quality, features and performance are hard to beat in its price range.
That's not to say the the GeForce2 MX is not deserving of its accolades, but the VooDoo5 is equally deserving of positive press given its current price point.
Many of the previous critizisms leveled at the V5 were valid when it was first introduced, but for me, it is now the value video card of choice.
What does everyone else think?
(Please, no heated rants or nostalgic rhetoric)
