My final thoughts again......

Basically guys, I figured this out years ago when I was in High School. The computer industry needs to be STANDARDIZED. Apple, IBM, Microsoft, DEC, SGI, SUN, HP, Sony, etc. should all merge into one huge company and make one Standard computer for home use that is really fast. Maybe 64-128 bit RISC CPU with ONE operating system. Now that all these companies have competed and created varying technologies, now would be a good time to merge and share resources. Divide each merged company into their own group to compete within the company to make the best hardware/software, with bonuses to the best. Maybe the price for a computer would be more, but it would be worth it. Another thing, I can't stand corporate pollution. Companies that produce plastics, and other petrochemical products, splooge their garbage into the ocean, thinking everything will be alright. If all companies paid for their chemical disposal, they would all have to pay for it, and they would all lose some profits, so competition would be even. Too bad that's not how it is. Mr. Dollar has too much power over the feeble human minds of this Earth.

I guess these guys/gals don't think much of the idea. As they shrug there heads and walk off I will tell you why (basic).
1. Competition, None therefore sit on there backsides. Your idea of competing internally works in theory but thats what BT (Britsh Telecom)have done and as you can see not to hot in pratice.
2. Seriously inefficent. As the compay is so big its impossible to organize efficently (when you work for a big company you will know why!!!) therefore you (the average consumer) will be paying for extra unnessecary costs basically higher prices for nothing.
3. New ideas will get killed straight away. The conglomerate will kill all newcomers to the market to prevent to much competition (like 3dfx did and nvidia do) this will limit the technolgy coming in and hence at the end of the day you will have a crap computer for loads of money.
I believe Russia tryed the same thing but on a larger scale (communism) and it needed a leader who made his generals dance to the music of barking dogs. As you can see quite mad :D :D :confused:
