Here's my take on this. AMD, stop being a bunch of losers and develop your own chipsets.

umm..... if AMD doesn't develop their own chipsets, can you tell me what the 760 is?

AMD confirms April (price) cuts!

Any lower and they'd be practically giving them away!!!

I didn't say they can't make their own chipsets. Is just that they don't want to. AMD RECOMMENDS all the board makers user the Via KT266 instead of the AMD 760 (which most are doing anyway due to cost). AMD makes great reference chipset (which the 760 is) but they seem unwilling to commit to a retail chipset. When are they going learn. Athlon sales were bogged down due to fact their was no board supporting PC133 and AGP 4x until VIA finally released the buggy KX133 (which was 6 months late). OEM Duron sales have been disapointing because of a lack of integerated motherboard. AMD basically lost any advantage of P4 fiasco because DDR-RAM rollout was late due to flaws in the AMD 760 and once again Via was late with the KT266. AMD can't stay in second forever since eventually Intel will rollover you. They need to take the market lead as well as the performance lead.

SNAP - the Strategic Nvidia AMD Partnership
Hmm, sounds like nVidia's marketing department kicking in. In my opinion, 'SNAP' sounds a bit crap, though. Reminds me of an early nineties (I believe German?) techno act, hehe
