AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA
Baldur's Gate 2, without a doubt. KICK ASS game. Just make sure you have PLENTY of free time before you get it.... your friends aren't going to be seeing much of you for a while :).

Wizards and Warriors is fun, though it definitely looks and feels a bit dated.
BG2 is awesome, best game of last year in my book. Torment still holds its spot as my all-time favorite CRPG, though, mainly due to the sheer quality of its story and the writing throughout. And Morte is just an awesome sidekick.
Currently playing Summoner, which is a bit fun. . .no classic though. And I'm continuing to fight off the lure of EverQuest.

My good friend here at the ISP plays ASHERON's CALL. I have seen demos of this game and its amazing. He likes it way better than EQ since in that game you dont have the freedom to roam wherever you want, alone or with a group.I'm picking this game up tommorow.

Cool, I am going to get BG2. I've been playing Ultima 9 with my Voodoo5 and 2x FSAA, absolutely awesome graphics. Even after the fixes, the game is a little buggy, like it will just close the entire game and go to my desktop for no reason. Oh well, better luck with BG2.

I've been able to play a couple of RPG's in my day. I've enjoyed the Diablo series the most. The original Baldur's Gate wasn't too bad either. I also played around with a lesser known RPG called DarkStone which was an experience. Can't say whether the experience was good or bad but it was an experience so I'll leave it at that. Out!

I really liked (only RPG i have ever played) Dink Smallwood. and its free. its sort of a "lite rpg"
"Explore a magical world and help a boy become a man. Seth's humor has been called 'strange', 'weird' and even 'satanic' by one christian webpage. "
Here is the link: http://www.rtsoft.com/pages/files.htm
Hope you enjoy it, i really did.
Darkstone was fun. What was kewl about that game was you could play Multiplayer and build your charecter up, then go into single player and you would rock! But I really just liked multiplayer. It's a shame you couldn't save it though.
But, I have been hearing good things about Final Fantisy 9. I haven't played it yet... but I've heard good things.
I hear everquest and Ultima online are good - but i dont like the idea of paying them over and over agian just to play the game...
See agent.. that's the thing about EQ and Ultima. THERE IS NO END!!!!
THat's why I don't play them. THe idea of walking around killing the same thing over and over and over just is not appealing. Espec. in EQ where you can't kill fellow players, just computer players. That's just lame.
Uh oh... now that I have bashed EQ, I forsee my rating going down to Voodoo 1. But that's ok.. cause I liked the voodoo 1. =P

BG2 is good and everyone seems to be playing it online as well. If you want a good one for cheap check out Planescape Torment. Good game and it's running $15 at the moment... Not a bad game at all for that price and plenty of hours of RPG enjoyment... Then clean your soul with some UT or CounterStrike of course :D

No one has offered up Final Fantasy? The late ones (7-9) in particular are just fantastic. Unlike a lot of RPG's these games have a thick plot to keep you rivited. My wife has watched me play 7, 8 and 9 simply for the story line. This, the woman who can smell Playstation on my mind and do everything in her power to stop it, has actually asked me to fire it up and play for a while.
The only thing I can say bad about these games is the finality of finishing them. Because they are so centered on plot, when you finish it, it's just done. To me it's like reading a book. Who finishes a book, and picks it right back up to start over?
I'm not sure about 9, but 7 and 8 are available for PC.
