Hey does having SprintBBD turn off the DHCP improve the connection stability for you. I seen in dslreports.com that others have done this , but they arent really clear if it has improved the odd disconnects that happen from time to time. And you mentioned you had some kind of "upload" patch. Do you have a link for this program?
I'm not MGL, but I don't see how it would. THat is of course unless their DHCP server had issues. For example, if it had scopes that overlapped each other and was handing out IP address twice. Or, say for instance if it was always going down, causing problems getting connected to begin with.
But other than that, I can't see how DHCP would cause any problems. Most DSL providers give leases on IP addresses for weeks, if not months. Mine usually only changes once a month. But I go through Roseville, not Sprint, so I don't know how they work.

i art here. yes, DHCP can help from timeouts or bad ping times that happen in "peak times" every 15-25 minutes. when its off peak, the DHCP request is a non issue, but in peak times, DHCP off can really help. also,i got an experiemental windows .inf file that supposedly tweaks your connection. it has helped a we bit. wait a while, buzz is, sprint has digital equipment coming. oh, they are putting in a new tower in my area, should help A LOT ;) :D :p

Yeh one of the installers told me Sprint is planning on using the PCS towers ( the ones for the phones ) as broadband towers for home users too. I'm not too sure by what you mean by digital equipment, how will these differe from the equipment currently being used , by us and by SprintBBD?

one word, digital = fast. the ability to better balance the load and increases security with IBM DSP's that offer a maximum of 17Mbps throughput... both ways. the main benefit of upgrading to digital equipment will be better ping times and faster upload.

What I mean is , who will get the equipment? Sprint or us ( better modems ) or both ?
