For my daughter's pc. Was only $130. And decided to go ahead and get a 800mhz DURON too, that was $60. Anyone have any comments or tips on this cpu and motherboard? The board looks to be an awesome buy. Its raid capable, 200 and 266 fsb compatible for newer AMD cpus. Has tons of adjustments on the board and in the BIOS.
This is my first ASUS purchase, since I previously bought an Abit KT7 for my Tbird.
Did I get a good board, is there a better option?
It was only $130 , originally $169+ ( I make good deals :) )

Thinking about replacing the V5 in this new system with a Radeon 64, any comments on the compatibility?

The A7V133 is a kick @ss board, for $130 you got a hell of a deal. For that amount, there is no better board IMO, and damn near none for more, except another Asus maybe, heh.

I haven't had any problems with Radeons in any Asus board so far, though I only have messed with one A7V133 so far, that was the big nasty 1.333 GHz and a EVGA GTS2 Ultra.

I have however put Radeons alternatly on an FIC AZ11E, Tyan S2390, Asus A7V, MSI K7TTURBOR and Asus A7VPRO and have not had any problems, all running 4x AGP.

The A7V133 I had in was ATA/100, bit not RAID.

Hell, I would probably put the Asus in mine and put the Abit in your the other one, but that's me, I like Asus a lot :)

The A7V is a damn good board, that's about all there is to say... I've used a few, and have been pretty pleased w/ 'em. As far as I'm concerned, they're THE athlon board to get.

Compatibility with a Radeon should be just fine.... although it may or may not work with AGP 4x enabled.

Excellent board, excellent price. That board is very good for overclocking also. The only other option in IMO would be the Abit KT7A, which is just as good. Not necessarily better, but has a few more BIOS options, again for overclocking.

Very wise purchase you made.
