Anyone else read the specs on these babys!!! I am in love, I just don't know if I am going to be able to afford one.

400 hp 390 lb of torque. *drool*

Racing seats, and all man!!! it's a beauty!! but, see, I was thinking yesterday. I doubt this is going to follow the typical mustang pricing range. Why?
Chevy disscontinued the Camaro. That was really the mustang's only rival... I mean... there's pontiac, but those cars never hold their value, and somehow, from what I've seen, manage to break even more than the fords and chevys.

So... I'm thinking Ford is trying to make this one compete with the only chevy racer left... the Corvette. And if that's the case... there's no way I'm picking this baby up for under 30. Maybe not even under 45. We'll see I guess.

If I had to guess...I'd put the 2005 at 35-40, but thats just a guess. Along with the specs you mentioned, I love the retro look they are doing, very cool.

Any pics? Never liked the look of Mustangs myself.
Don't the Camaros have a good chance of coming back in '07? Something's definately coming back since the GTO in '04 is being used as a "Space filler".

It looks pretty sweet except that it'll still be live axle. I HATE live axle :)

Incidentally, you could have a 390hp 390lb. ft. of torque right now if you wanted one. I don't really think they'll change that engine much.

I betcha the "standard production" (non-cobra) models will follow the same pricing scheme they've got going now, at least I doubt there'll be any drastic changes: The V6 one starting in the high teens, the GT starting in the low 20s, a more-power V8 version for around 30 and the cobra for 35-40.

Majority of V8 owners I've spoken to seem to love live axle.....

Personally I think the car is ugly. It says concept so is it for sure gonna be in production? I personally don't like mustangs at all but that's just me. I more of an import person.

That car looks like ass, it's right up there with the GTO concept and the Camaro concept.

Sweet mother of mercy, my eyes have beheld a vision of glory.....and it is the 2005 Mustang.

OoooOOOoo. OOOOOOOOHhhhh. Daddy wants one *drool*

The take back styling is unbelievable. It's like the fastbacks of old...but new :D The glass tops are another nicety. Looks like T tops if I'm not mistaken.

I read also it is back to a cast iron engine. I'm trying to figure out why, and the power feind inside me is hoping it's because the beast puts out so much torque an aluminum block wouldnt handle it :D:D:D

I've wanted a classic Mustang for a looooong time 1965 GT350... 1969 Mach 1... both have held my fancy for as long as I could drive. This car is changing everything, it's right up there with them.

Bravo Ford on the 40th ann. Mustang :)

I obviously disagree :D But then again, I've been a Mustang fan for a looooong time, I dunno if you are or aren't.

One of the better pics IMO...

I've never been a mustang fan, and never will, and those things are just ugly imo. Don't like em all that much. Its just weird looking.

I belive that it is supposed to be available for the 2004 model year, but 2005 is the year for a new car for me so it will either be a Mach 1 or a Cobra if I can swing it :nana:

Cast iron because of the Super Charger. the current models have aluminum blocks, and a lot of the super charged engines are blowing at 50k because they just can't handle it. They decided to switch to the Cast Iron block because I think they are tired of paying to rebuild blown engines. hehe :)

ROFLMAO!!!!!

This comment wins the ironic post of the week award.

You are award that most of your "imports" are built right here in the states?
And you are also aware that most of the "domestic" cars are built elsewhere?

LoL! So in theory... you are saying that you like the domesitcs... since the imports aren't really the imports. :P

Whats sad is Ford has to do all that to their engine just to equal the power of Corvettes naturaly asperated 2 valve pushrod engine :hmm: I think if they go down the road even trying to compete with Chevy's Corvettes they will end up getting burnt. They need to focus on what market they can gain from the lower priced sports cars. Since they dominate the domestic market with the F body gone.
