Damn, this is one seriously good mouse.

My last mouse was a generic optical that I bought a few years back, and to be fair to it, it has survived a lot of use and has only just started wearing out (the microswitches on the mouse buttons are temperemental at best).

Going from a generic-absolutely-no-ergonomic-design MS wannabe to the Logitech is one helluva difference.
It's heavier, constructed better, looks nicer and most of all, smoother in response to my commands.

The buttons are very well placed and I've downloaded the latest Mouseware to get the best out of the extra buttons.

All in all I'm very impressed with it, and it compliments my Z-680 speakers as well! ;)

Thnaks peeps, the more I use this mouse, the more I know I've made the right choice.

I entertained the thought of getting the MX700 until I seen the price, I couldn't immediately justify the cost for a mouse, even if it was the best one around.

I kinda had to get this one in an emergency because my old one was on its way out, if I didn't have to get it immediately, I probably would have waited till next month and got the cordless.

No matter how many people say logitech mice rock....I'll never buy a mouse with both navigation buttons on the same side and a shape that tilts your wrist. Nope, The only mouse I use is the Intellimouse Optical (not the explorer)

I was also going to get the Mx700, but the wieght issue turned me off. Both the MX500 and MX700 use the same sensor, the only difference being the MX700 is wireless. So I got the MX500 instead, and have never regret this purchase.
