Uh did I miss something?
Why would I be interested in OLED?

Ahh nevermind, I remember we've had long conversations on alternative viewing technology.

There's nothing subtle about OLED displays from Kodak. Brighter, more vibrant colors. Exceptionally wide viewing angle. Sharp images that move with the speed of the action. Picture the future! And it's available today-from Kodak.

Ok but are any pc monitors going to use this as well?

Apart from the advantages in IQ, the power consumption is quite a bit lower. Mobile companies are already dropping some research into OLED`s due to those advantages. No idea about PC monitors but I canīt see yet why it shouldnīt be possible, but itīs probably still a shot into the future, especially with manufacturing costs etc.

heh, I read an article about OLED's in MaxPC --- they are planning flat pannel displays based on the technology as well as TV screens printed on flexible material so you can litterally fold them up for storage.

OLEDs have huge advantages over LCDs. Once the costs come down, they should replace LCDs in several years.
