Take pic of car, shoppe rims on car, see what car looks like.
If car look dumb, don't put on car, find new rim to shoppe on car.
That'll be $50 please.

Umm, they are fucking round things... the rims don't make the car.. the car makes the rims.
Pics with rims on car?
I might have rims soon! haha. Kevin Breeze at work has a friend who's selling a full set (tires/rims) 15" for 500$ ... depending on what they look like (I want thinner spokes that kind of show off the disc brakes), and if they aren't TOO bling-blingy (Not being racist, but he's black, and black people loooveee the bling bling) But, a plus to that is, they also sell their rims dirt-cheap when they get new ones, lol.

Ooh, you should ask him if he has the kind that keep spinning when they stop... and the 15 pinwheels bondoed to the body kit.
Or you could buy Adam at Auto Acoustic's rims.. he gets a new set of like 32"s every month.. current selling price: About 2 grand, so cheap!

Fine....do you see a 5 bolt pattern in those wheels? Cuz I sure as hell don't! What I see are 2 different 4 bolt patterns. Check into that before making your buying decision :)
On the topic of wheels, I was remembering how fun it is to rotate tires on a truck and trailer. Each rim has 10 bolts (180 nuts total on truck and trailer...I think it's 10 and not 12...) and it takes a 1.5 inch impact wrench to get them off and on....the impact wrench weighs 70 pounds. Just hope that one of the wheels doesn't fall on its side....cuz it weighs 150+ pounds and is not exactly easy to pick back up :P And finding the 50+ grease points on the truck is fun too :)
Since ur gonna be such a hardass, i apparently need to explain something...
THATS NOT THE ONLY BOLT PATTERN THEY SELL, ITS THE ONLY PIC!
NO COMPANY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD ONLY SELL ONE PATTERN!
YOu wanna have a hard time finding some nice rims?
Try finding rims for a 6-lug pattern!
There's a lot out there, but most of em are that "bling-bling" style and they're big and ugly as fuck.
These are what I'm gonna get from www.capitalwheels.com
http://images.capitalwheels.com/images/rp2105-lrg.gif
Polished (not chrome) 17"x9" Dakota R/T rims. Gotta get fenderflares too, though. Otherwise, the tires stick out slightly too far and look kinda goofy.
And Stryker, if you want an opinion: GET THE DAMN GUNMETAL RIMS! They'll look great with black.

Yep.. teh slickness..
Later id prolly tint the windows some, put in projectors with black backings, shave the handles and maybe paint the center tail piece on the tailights to add to the slickness.
(the center only reflects anyways, looks really good i think..)
Yea, i know.. fart pipe..

DAMN, what kind of exhaust is that?
That stuff you say you wanna do sounds good. Just don't get those damn clear/aluminum rear lenses! (Altezza's I think is the name for em).
Those are very overrated and overrused, I think.
And I can't tell if you've lowered it or not, but lowering springs make it look MUCH sleeker as well.:)

Acrticle must have been wrong. No matter.
Still, where did you get 300 HP? the 2003 V6 makes 271HP.....just wondering.
Emissions regulations are probably why.
Probably they had to limit the power of the V6 to keep the emissions legal.
My truck has a V6, only comes out of the factory with 175hp... But it's very easy to get the power up to 230-250hp with aftermarket stuff, NOT including a supercharger, turbo, or spray. Just takes some good tuning. Putting a turbo or a blower on, that would make it over 300hp! Just better have a second car in your driveway if you do that much to an engine...
BTW, Stryker, is yours the GS?
BTW, if you don't believe me about that small a V6 (239ci to be exact) being able to create that much power, look at this:
http://www.dragtruk.com/ENTRIES/kramarnick.html
Last I heard, he totalled that truck in an accident, though... That little V6 must've been pushing nearly 400hp! That's not including the 175 shot of nitrous.

But I was looking at the Lancer Evo at the same time and got them confused in my head. My mistake.
Edit: And "normal trim" is the RS line which is 147HP from and inline 4

AFAIK, the 2G DSM don't come with a 16G turbo stock from the factory.
the 16 G is actually the "basic" upgrade in the aftermarket.

Turbo is a T25.
Btw you have a 2nd gen or a 1st gen ? On a first gen it will look like shit IMO, but if you have the 2nd gen, it will look nice , those kind of wheel go with a more round car ...doesn't fit nice on a edgy car like the 1st gen. Don't know if you're following me ... hehehe :D

I know exactly what you're talking about. Ive got a 2G. ('98 5 Spd. GS) This car isnt meant to be fast, im just making it look nicer for now until i upgrade to a GSX.. not worth it at all to turbo it.. and besides.. the GSX has AWD = Waaaay Better Launches. Plus leather interior is always nice :P

You know not the power of a Vtec + Turbo ... that 8k (might be 8500?) redline plus a turbo = POWAAHHH... too bad i'll never own one.
Twin-turbos, set up so that you've got the small one that goes from 1k-5k (when vtec kicks in) and a much larger one for 5k-8k, when it hits 5k, the vtec and the turbo at the same time cause the car to spin like its changing gears.
Actually that last part about the TT i don't know, but the first part is true. But i just think it'd be pretty cool about the 2nd part, heh.
Twin Turbos + 4 Cylinders = Bad Idea..
You wouldn't get anywhere near as good of a gain from one massive turbo.

Not with a 2K Turbo.. you'd be lucky to hit 280.
And 400 hp is possible on anything, numb nutts. (havent said that in a while, had some strange desire to use it :P)

This doesn't work like this at all...impeller size, exhaust wheel size , A/R, they all come into factor .
It works much by CFM than PSI.
Say a tiny turbo, for example a 16G , at 25 PSI will blow alot less air than a T88 at 25 PSI, thus the engine will produce more power with the T88.
And I'm not even talking about range of efficiency...at 25 PSI the 16G is blowing more heat than air due to it's small turbine size.
That's doesn't mean the T88 is better....depends on the application, bigger turbo = less useable powerband.

What's A/R?
lol, dont forget the fact that it's impossible to twin turbo a 4 cylinder.. hehe.. need 2 sets of headers for that.

This i do not get. It's not like you can't modify the engine to add another set

FWD draggers do that all the time... ive got many a pic...
It's obvious that the car is FWD... I mean, it's even more obviously a Civic, but completely fiberglass body.
I mean, I bet those cars (the FWD's with slicks on the front) could probably do really nicely on the strip, but it just looks goofy as fuck!

Kinda prenounces it as a drag car tho i think..
There's a lot of streetable muscle cars/trucks that the owner just buys interchangeable slicks/racing wheels for...
I don't know why I brought that up, it just came to mind for some reason...
Oh yea, I was at Trader's Village onetime (in Grand Prarie) and I saw this Civic there that had BIG tires on the back wheels, and small ones on the front. WTF is the driver trying to accomplish?

To make it look like the drag car that it really is! Duh! Everyone know's that a FWD cars traction is at the rear wheels! duh!
Holy crap, that means all my traction is at my FRONT wheels!

3500 - 4000... i think ill pass..
Wamp, i could be wrong.. but i thought only superchargers were mounted like that? (the civic pic)
Here's a quickly Photoshopped Pic... model is the earlier 2G body style, mines got a spoiler, rear end is curvier, but that's about it.
Here ya go:

They're routed the exhaust around the front of the car, then out through the turbos to the side.
Technically superchargers and turbochargers are the same thing (Although they are turbochargers on the Civic from what I was told), just like centrifugal, screw etc. are the same type of supercharger.
Superchargers are belt-driven, so they have to mount around the area of where the belt can drive it.
Since turbos are exhaust driven, they can pretty much be put anywhere, as long as the exhaust gets routed to where they are planned to be put. But if the exhaust gets routed wrong, then you will experience severe turbo-lag! I saw this pic where some dumbass got the bright idea to mount a turbo ALL the way in the back near the tailpipe, and then mount a tube ALL the way back to the intake. Why in the world would someone go about it like that?
Anyway, they both have their pros and cons. I personally would go with turbos... I like how someone thought to put the wasted exhaust gas to good use.:) Plus, they sound pretty damn cool when they spool up!
BTw, what size are you planning to get those rims in, Stryker?
I think it would turn out PERFECT with 18". Any bigger, might end up looking kind of goofy.

I read about a few in Japan (Don't think they're stock). Currently here we have some that have an electric clutch to switch it on and off (Toyota 1G, offered by an aftermarket company that imports them), but that's exactly relevant to electric superchargers.
Here's a link:
Need an already existing supercharger......

Discussion about it, interested read it, if not, bleh.

Not going to look too deeply at the moment since it's too late, just look on google about electric superchargers, not really rocket science.
I wouldnt dare go any bigger than 18"s, i will prolly go with 17"s unless i can get a better price.. cuz the difference in one inch on the package im looking at is like double the cost.

So long as a bodykit etc. doesn't get thrown on there, I think the rims would match the car quite well.

*edit* goddamn it.... should have edited the post above instead of replying again.... not a good day
Rotfl, im sorry.
Btw, when you dont think it looks too bad, im sooo getting em.
And no body kits.. that was like 6 months ago, i have long since then relinquished my ricer instincts.

Then why get Rims now?
Didn't say I don't like em now, just that I think the 98's I think were better... In terms of looks and features.
My cousin's got a really nice '98 RS... It's white, has a vented hood, Blitz front bumper, West Wings fiberglass Commando wing, 18" alloy rims, K&N filter/chrome intake tube, Flowmaster exhaust... It looks really damn nice! I don't know how it does in terms of performance, probably nowhere near a GS, GST, or GSX... I haven't seen how fast it is, we went to San Antonio oneday to buy a couple of games and stuff, and he was afraid to punch it because there's A LOT of cops there...:(

And yea, i gotta agree with ya.. the '97 - '99 Eclipse is by far my fav. of all time.
There's very few differences in a GS and a RS, i just get all the power windows, doors, locks... that mess... rear wiper..

Then why get Rims now?
Because i can carry em over.. i dont plan on buying much for this car that i cant transfer to a GSX
One thing I noticed about his car, it has ONE windshield wiper. Were all the Eclipses from that generation like that?
Ive never heard of that before.. ive got 2 on the front, one on the hatch... weird..
was it a very big one like in the McLarens?
Sounds almost like a mod..
Yea, it probably was a mod... It was a big wiper. right in the middle. The guy he bought it from did all that extra stuff to it. I only saw the exhaust and the intake, Lord only knows if he actually did any internal engine mods to it.
hehe, i cant see any point in modding a N/T eclipse for anything other than show tho, just wouldnt produce the results anywhere near that of a Turbo.
