Back when I was employed ( :( ) I supported the local Rape Crisis Center through the United Way.

Plus, I always give to the local Soup Kitchen when I have enough cash to do so. (Not to mention my tithes at church, which go to various charities, plus missions in other countries.) :)

I'm a strong supporter of the 'Buy FluxCapacitor PC Games' fund.

"Stryker's 64 Bit Computer Charity" is a very well lead, motivated group and i support them 100% with all of my funds.

Not a bad price for what it's got in it though. Pissed me off I could never compete with freaking crap like Compaq. Oh, and sooner than later, he wll regret owning a Compaq, heh. Besides, by the time a 64 bit 'killer app' comes out for Windows (taking into consideration there will be a 64 bit version of Windows), he'll be ready to upgrade again anyway. But I'm sure that 64 bit will tear through that Quicken spreadsheet :P

WEAVE. Plus there are several charities our church gives a percentage of donations to.

computer talk in a thread that says "What charities do you support?" Ya'll are on crack, every subject is converted to different topics

Back on the subject.... We hold nationwide Grand Prix conventions, that we have people buy raffle tickets with the money going to an organization we pick every year. Last year it was 10k for make-a-wish foundation, since my sister was sent to disney world for make-a-wish foundation 2 years ago.

I got the All-American grand slam at Denny's, and 20 cents of it went to the MLK foundation for stopping violence and crime.

What charities do you support?

Directly, not enough. Salvation Army during Christmas and Easter Seals when they ask. Used to support United Way through salary deductions but didn't like how much compensation the directors were making so ended that after many years. Most money I might otherewise donate usually ends up in my kids' school now...so, many, programs...ugggh.

Well, a portion of the taxes you pay are used in a charitable manner so you're a philanthropist through coercion. :D
