I know you all are bored of me and my photo editing antics, but here's the end of the story.

Here's a brief synapsis of the story so far. I like Picture Publisher software, it was made by iGrafx. iGrafx was bought by Corel. Corel renamed it to Photobook. I just bought CorelDRAW Essentials 2, which contains Photobook.

So i was playin around Photobook and i found out that it's missing half or more of all it's options. I went ahead and emailed Corel asking them wtf was up with Photobook. She admitted that the Photobook within corelDRAW was a "slimmed" down version (i used the word "dumbed" down, but whatever) of Picture Publisher. Pissed off, i printed out that email and went back to CircuitSh!tty with a plan. I told them all about what happened, and even gave them the email to read heh. The guy was reluctant, but he went ahead and returned it, saying that Photobook was not complete on his reason for return heh. So at least i have my 85 dollars back, and i know a bit more about Corel.

Well Corel does make about 13 other products to do the same thing, but they all cost around 300+, so i guess i should have seen it coming :P

So, did you let the Corel people know you returned your product because it's a half-assed version of what it used to be?

i need to. They bought out my fav company iGrafx, then released a nerfed version of iGrafx's product so they could make a few extra bucks :mecry:

I'm just gonna give up on the whole ordeal and either:
A. work on all the images at home on my PP9 or
B. try to grow up a bit and just use the tools i have, meaning PSP8.

Hate it when companies buy out competing companies and then kill 'em. Worked on some peoples computer across the street, own a screen application/print shop, do isgns and t-shirts and such. The machine they use to cut lettering and designs out is run by software on their computer. They been using theirs since Win 3.xx days. Computer died so they bought a used one from me, and I had a hell of a time getting the shit to work on the new system. And forget about support, company no longer exists, and the company that bought them out took it out to the back yard and dug a really deep hole and buried it, period. No support, no mention, no lost disk replacement, nothing. The chick I talked to in tech support of the new company had never even heard of the other product, and she had been working there for seven years. And the bitch it, is the fucking program costs thousands of dollars, and only two companies in the world now make similar programs. Also, they got this bullshit dongle protection scheme, plugs into your printer port, or the program won't run.

Corel is dying anyways.

They're no longer traded on NASDAQ (or weren't a coupl months ago) and are a shell of what they were in the early 90's. Much like Novell they went on a spending spree that only confused who they were. Should have stuck with the DRAW! suite instead of trying to be the next MS.
