AFAIK he lost.

Space ship one won the prize a month or so ago. He says he's gonna continue to develop his ship though.

Isn't the prize for 3x30-minute 3-person flights or something like that? Don't think SpaceShipOne has got it yet, anyway. I could be wrong though.

SpaceShipOne made a successful first flight. They were planning on making the two flights to win the X-prize but there was a glitch in the flight control systems during the initial flight that has kept them from attempting those.

I remember watching something about this on TechTV a few months ago. It looked pretty interesting to see carmack trying to give ideas on what they should do to theirs and everyone would just look at him like 'wtf?'

I have severe doubts that R420's are the ultimate sollution for D3.

What else do you think they would give away as a tournament prize that's fast? They never stated it was the ultimate solution either, :grrf:
