I never knew how this worked, and I read about it today, so I thought I'd share the knowledge. :D

You "rest" by hanging out in the town. You can also log off there to accumulate rest credit. When you're rested, you get XP for killing monsters twice as fast.

For every eight hours you rest, you get one bubble's worth of credit, which is 5% of the XP you need to get to the next level. For example, if you need 10,000 XP to level up, the 5% bubble is 500 XP.

So, say you've rested in town (or logged off there) for 16 hours. When you log in, you'll have 2 bubbles worth of XP that you can play through before you go back to "normal" (unrested) state. While you're rested, everything you kill will earn double XP.

You also apparently get four times as much rest credit for logging off in an inn than you do anywhere else.
