I used to shun this particular genre, mostly because i'd never seen reason to give it a try. But after playing Osu Tatake Ouendan! (DS japanese rhythm game) and watching naruto, one piece, and bleach i have come to enjoy it. Anyone else have similar thoughts?

As far as my overall Japanese music tastes are concerned, JRock would be pretty low on the list. I like Luna Sea and L~arc-en-ciel quite a bit, but the songs I like from those bands are the softer, easier listening songs. The hard rock sound doenst appeal to me so much.
Having said that, I really like "Orange Range - Asterisk" (Bleach 1st ending), but alot of the other really popular music (such as Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist songs) are not my cup of tea.

I believe Asterisk was the first Bleach OP. Other than that, I like Jrock quite a bit. My favorite Naruto OP was Haruka Kanata by Asian Kung Fu Generation which also happens to be the same band that did my favorite FMA OP that last and final one. The final OP just edged out OP 2 by L'arc~en~ciel. I like pretty much any music though. So I might not be the best person to talk on such a subject.
grrf I knew it was the OP since I also like the Rie Fu ending song, not sure why I said that.
Forgot to mention "Do As Infinity". They're one of my overall favs, and they definately have a harder sound than most of the stuff I listen to.
