just got back from the merle watson bluegrass festival in wilkesboro n.c
i saw a bunch of great artists
including
jorma kaukonen
jerry douglas
the waybacks feat. bob weir :headbang: got bob's autograph too
sam bush (played with the above on the second time they played, and i got to shake his hand after he stepped out of the porta potty :headbang:)
peter rowan trio
doc watson
the mammals
the avett brothers
steep canyon rangers
john cowan band
allison brown quartet with joe craven
the david bromberg quartet
gillian welch
the lee boys

but the overall best was seeing the waybacks with bob weir the second time they played and were joined by sam bush and briefly by gillian welch
it was amazing, they played a bunch of grateful dead tunes (which if you didnt know, bob weir was the lead vocalist beside jerry garcia for the G. Dead) they played brown eyed women, st. stephen and others i cant remember, the play kashmir by zeppelin which was AMAZING, watchtower, rolling stone, that song where it starts out by saying "blah blah and i was feeling bout half past dead" that was good

and a few others which i am at a loss to remember but... it was amazing

just thought i'd share :bigthumb:
