An annoying new trend is to use cut/changed scenes in commercials/trailers, you may not find this annoying, but I do, an example of this is Cats & Dogs, in the commercial Mr. Tinkles says "I bet you are wondering who this genius, ect., ect., ect. could be, it's ME!, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! (maniacal laughter)", I about fell on the floor laughing the first time I saw that commercial, and when I watched the movie, I was expecting to see this scene, WRONG, they changed it for the worse, it was replaced with a pathetic "it's me, ha ha ha", it really sounded pitiful compared to the commercial, and the scene would have been much funnier with the original version, this is one example, another example would be a scene completely missing from a movie that was in the commercials, it is annoying the hell out of me, every single movie I have been to in the past few months, a little while after I come out of it, I wonder "Hey, wait a minute!, where was (insert scene here) ?, damn it, they did it again", it is annoying the hell out of me,

Ever seen the DVD of Demolition Man? You know how the restaurant in that film used to be Taco Bell? Now get this: in the DVD it has become Pizza Hut! (almost) All logos have been digitally painted over (very badly) but the worst part is this: every mention of Taco Bell has been dubbed over with "Pizza Hut". So now you see them say TA-CO-BELL, but you hear PIZ-ZA-HUT...

That annoyed the crap out of me...

The other thing I despise is when they take two totally unrelated parts of the movie, and splice them together for some good comic timing. I can't think of an example this early - but I'll think about it :)

One of the Jurassic Park 3 commercials,

Grant: I think we lost him,

(group turns around, see the Spinosaurus, it is growling),

two scenes cut together to make it look funny, I knew even before the movie came out it was two different scenes, after watching the commercial many times, I noticed Grant's shirt had changed between shots,

Never seen it, but that sucks, their deal with Taco Bell must have expired long ago, good thing in that scene where they eat at the Taco Bell, they did not actually eat a taco, lol,

What is more annoying than that is product commercials at the beginning of the movie. Trailers are okay, because it gives a sneak peak at what we actually want to see...but I am there to watch a freaking movie, not buy a Cadallac Escalade damn it!

You are right, and now (at least one of my local movie theaters) is showing slides from advertisers like Coke before the movie start time, that give a quote, and asks what movie it was from, and the next slide shows the answer in a Coke bottle, or "Coke Stand-Ins", the only one of these I have seen is the A.I. logo done with Coke bottles, and it asks what movie is this?, then gives the answer, and of course, as soon as the movie starts up, a Coke commercial comes on, commercials before movies are THE most annoying things in movies now-a-days,

I timed the pre-movie commerials (not the slides) at the last move I saw, which was Don't Say A Word btw, and they were over 15mins long, not including the "coming attractions" previews!!!!

Pisses me off when I spend my hard-earned money to see a movie, then I have to sit through 15mins of ads, plus the goddamn slides they show beforehand with coke or pepsi and car ads...

However, would you rather sit through 15 minutes of commercials or pay $15.- for a movie ticket?

Why would we have to do either? The commercials are revune above and beyond operating expense.

One movie I went to had 20 minutes worth of previews, not counting the commercials, or slides, it got to the point of when another one would come on, I was almost shouting "ANOTHER ONE?, COME THE FUCK ON ALREADY!", they even showed a trailer twice, previews of that length are fucking ridiculous, and also had an ungodly amount of commercials, too,

They are at it again, a few hours after seeing Harry Potter, I realize they have taken something out of the movie, in the commercials (ALL of them), one of the characters says "he's rather disagreeable, isn't he?", if you have seen any of the commercials, you know what I am talking about, well, they cut they out, damn it, I wish they would stop this shit, it is beyond annoying, if you have a part cut out, DON'T PLAY THE DAMNED THING IN THE COMMERCIALS!, especially in the case of Harry Potter, which the line was in EVERY commercial,

On Freddy Got Fingered, they cut out the cheese head scene in the movie. Also, I thought he built a huge balsa wood airplane or ship or something and dropped it and it shattered everywhere. What happened to that?

Yes, the boat. Did I miss that? or did they leave it out.

This is going to continue happening because of the movie moguls trying to push a movie out the door, but it's actually still in editing.

It's all about the bottom dollar, anyway.
