I really want to know why oh why (can I scream it a little louder) WHY! did Qui Gon not disappear. Can you tell I just watched Episode I last night? I was inspired by something in the Classic SC link from Slacker :) Of all the stoopid things I could list here about the movie, this one just bugs the hell out of me. Even Anakin disappears, and he spent most of his life on the Dark Side!

I don't want to hear about any Master Jedi crap and reaching a certian understanding of the Force either, they said in the same movie he would be on the council if it wasn't for his "defiance". You must have to be pretty bad ass to sit on the council.

The Coup de gras in the whole thing is I was just reading summaries of screen plays thanks to EvilEngine. Qui Gon's spirit shows up at the end of Episode III. What the hell is this George!!! I'm really starting to feel let down here!

Am I sad for needing to capitalize the Force

Interesting. I really hope it's true that this is going to be explained, because even with that there still seems to be some incosistencies. Number one Qui Gon was struck down, and number two Yoda wasn't. I'll have to think about this one...

I have another question for George Lucas:

WHY WON'T THE BASTARD RELEASE THE FILMS ON DVD!!! You can buy the vhs-tapes, but no dvd, THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!

Because he wants to finish the entire series before he releases them on DVD, so it will be at least 2005 before you can get them on DVD,

Well, shit, I forgot to login, damn, (Slacker, could you delete the above post, please?), well, anyway, I was going to say, as big of a Star Wars fan that I am, I did not even notice that, lol, and Yoda was not struck down, but he did die,

Yeah Yoda died, but that link that Weapon X so kindly posted talkes about how George knows this is driving people nuts. It says he has a plan for explaining the ability to disappear, and the only thing their giving us to go on at this point is the key phrase from Obi Wan, "If you strike me down..."

OK that's fine, but it leaves me to wonder about Yoda. Anakin too actually, for all intensive purposes he commited suicide. "But Father you'll die...."

This is going to drive me crazy, I can feel it now.

But why??? Why can't he just release the first trilogy on DVD? 2005, that's just plain silly!

I have a theory about the DVD release. Driving people into a demand froth and selling more VHS products in the mean time aside, By 2005 we should be seeing the next evolution in DVD tech. I heard they are going to jump it up to 7.1, or even 8.1 with a rear center channel. I'm not sure what the specs are for THX certified, but I think it's one of those two. You know he would love nothing better than for his movies to have to run on THX equipment, more money in his pocket.

Secretly, I'm hoping he goes back and smooths out the movies some more. Perhaps I'm speaking sacrilige, but who thinks it would be cool if he redid some of the computer displays and stuff like this. A good example would be the battle briefing in Episode IV. I dunno. Maybe it just wouldn't fit.

5.1 EX has a center rear channel, Jurassic Park 3 will be one of the first movies to utilize it, and I think a big reason he does not want to put them out on DVD yet is so when he does, he can sell them as one big ass set, and charge out the ass for them,

Something weird... On the site of a popular Belgian music/video/DVD store, there is SW Episode 1 the Phantom Menace scheduled for release on 1 november 2001...

Could this be true?? Can it be?? Has Lucas come to his senses??

And what about the first 3 films?

Weapon X

lol

My theory concerns "unfinished business" and letting go.

Notice how the only one who didn't fade...Qui-Gon..had reservations about departing since he still had his mission of training the young Anakin...wanted to see the "Jedi Messiah" attain his mission....

The others:

Yoda: "No more training do you need". After completing Luke's training, he dies.
Obi-wan: sees Luke escaping on the Falcon, smiles, then turns off his saber and falls to Vader.
Anakin: sees his son with his own eyes - culmination of his quest to find his son that began in Episode V, maybe even since Episode III...smiles in gratitude, then dies.

Of course, this is all speculation like any other..... :)

That is an excellent observation Weapon X. I think I'm going to have to side with you on that. It still confuses me that The Council would have us sniffing in the "if you strike me down" arena though. I guess I'll be curious until we all find out what George is thinking.
