Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Anyone planning on seeing this?

I think it looks pretty good. It's got Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter....pretty solid cast.

it's a musical, but i think i can stomach it.

A musical with Depp about Sweeney Todd?

I think I'll pass, heh.

I'm excited about it. I love Tim Burton and Steven Sondheim (who is responsible for the musical aspect of the film and for the original musical) so I'm very excited. I think people give musicals a bad rap. This film looks very similar to Sleepy Hollow in style and execution. Burton is awesome at period films. Seeing this for sure.

Seriously. I think half of the female population that went to see every POTC went simply to stare at him for two and a half hours at a time, lol.

Sitting in the theater watching the movie, hearing the girls behind me talk about him.

I love Depp as much as the next teenage girl so I'll probably see this. It feels like it will be a guilty pleasure because of all the emo/goth kids that will go because it's Tim Burton and the teenage girls that will go for Depp and the emo teenage girls that will go and have the biggest O face the entire time because it's Johnny Burton.

On second thought I may have to wait to rent it because I'd probably go nuts in the theater and kill everyone.

even if the plot is bad...Johnny Depp might be this movie's shaving grace!

This is going to be a really good movie. I loved Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Jesus, they even had to change all thsi shit around for the movie. No damn reason to, more than enough shit in reality to make a helluva movie, but then they change almost everything about it just for the hell of it. I really, really hate that.

Spoilers, sort of;
http://www.slate.com/id/2180406/

And, ofcourse, spoiled the whole damn story for me because dumbass me I just happen to know the story.

Remember that the movie is using Stephen Sondheims stage production as its basis, which was very loosely based on fact

And that's a big enough warning label right there: Stephen Sondheims stage production.
