I just thought of a good idea for a new Wing Commander game...
It wouldn't exactly "follow" the series, but it would take place in the same universe. It would follow WC4, and events would take a different course from the events that led to what happens in WC5(better known as Prophecy).
WC4 has 2 different endings... Col. Blair interrupts the assembly that's voting for war with the Border Worlds, and persuades the entire board to vote NO on war with the Border Worlds Union. That's the happy ending. Then the alternate ending, Col. Blair screws up and is arrested for treason(because he defected to the BWU in the first place), and is executed, and war between Confed and the BWU is given the okay. When I took that ending, it shows a HUGE Confederation fleet, fighters flying all around, and then it shows Admiral Tolwyn in the bridge of the TCS Vesuvius, and he goes, "Launch the attack," followed by the fleet moving in toward the Border World space. I remember thinking, "MAN, I wish the game would keep going so I could see what will happen!" If it were up to me, I'd put the player in the role of Maniac, Hawk, Catscratch, or maybe a new character, and the story of this game would be the war between Confed and the Border Worlds Union. A whole different side-story to the WC universe. Maybe if I ever become in charge of a game company, I can do it. ![]()

I like it! Col. Blair was ghey anyway...kill him off!
Though, I *did* like the Prophecy storyline so that makes things difficult. I wonder if there are any plans in the works to bring out another WC game? That was one of the series that first got me into computer gaming. ![]()

Not exactly original. Oh well. It was still a fun game. I think the Kilrathi thing had been stretched pretty thin unfortunately and they felt they needed something better than the kitties. Too bad, I still like the Kilrathi. At any rate, I think the Border World war is a cool idea...you should get ambitious about it and submit a script to Origin. Or does Chris Roberts/Microsoft have the rights to the WC franchise? (I think Origin still has the rights, but not sure...)

Chris Roberts is the one that made the WC universe, I'd want him to do it...
But yea, I definately was thinking about writing up a script for the Border Worlds war... ![]()
