The objective of this thread it to provide a counter point* ( a second opinion, if you will) regarding some of the music reviewed here by Simon. So, without further ado, I give you Teh Second Opinion.

Andrew W.K. - She Is Beautiful

Beauty. What is it, really? A sight, a sound pleasing to the heart, soothing to the soul, that makes a silky, subtle warmth of pleasure engulf you very soul... The song "She is Beautiful" is titled appropriately for it is itself a masterwork of art, a seempless fusion of lyrics and melody of unearthly beauty.

Take a look at some of the lyrics:

The girl's too young
She don't need any better
It's all coming back
I can feel it
The girl's too young
She don't know any better
It's all coming back
I can feel it

The beauty is in the details, or in this case, the lack thereof. Its unobstructed by overly complex lyrical mechanics, left exposed in its awesome simplicity. In the day when music often is akin to over elaborate abstractionism of Oost-Modernism period, such song, stripped to its core of purity, makes us long for the simple times with its exposed perfection. I doubt not that were the great classics of centuries past be alive today, this is the music they would be listening to.

More to come...

*Not all of the songs to be reviewed here will actually be heard by the reviewer. As such, lyrics.com, dreams, imagination and Nam flashbacks will be used extensively to fill in any gaps.
