Well...got the new machine together!!!

Everything seems cool, but I got a couple of problems I was hoping you could help me out with!

1. (OK this is a 3dmark03 question...forgive me ) My CPU score seems to have hit the shitter since I put in my new CPU, I'm sure it just some setting that I have missed, but was looking for some advice as to where to start looking.

Here is my compare so you can see what I'm talking about!
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=904053

This is what I know:

I have HT enabled

My FSB is set to 250 (5:4) and ram voltage is set to 2.8v

My processor is at default speeds in terms of voltage (I tried bumping it up a notch...but nothing was different...so I turned it back down)

Again, I'm probably just missing some minute little detail...but wanted to get an idea of where to start looking.

The system runs great, SYS soft sandra is reporting numbers that look really nice (crushing the reference CPU/Memory score in every case). Overall I'm really happy, just got the system up and running this morning, so I haven't had a chance to really play any games yet (but rest assured I will when I get home ). The only other issue I'm running into is that Planetside won't connect at all (launchpad hangs at "loading mini-map.png"...but I suspect that it has something to do with my connectivity settings in WinXP pro (not an OS that I have used before...so I'm still learning). I tried disabling the soft firewall through the network tab....but that hasen't done it....will keep working on that one.

Also, to any IC7 owners...does your CPU score get posted on the initial bios screen? All i get is "Dual Channel mode enabled" then the memory amount and speed! Wierd...but since everything is running ok....I wrote it off as random wierdness..

Will get some more impressions/benchmarks up after I have a chance to play with it a little more!

Um...if it's an Intel 3 gig CPU, then shouldn't the FSB be either 266MHz or 400Mhz? (533 and 800 respectively...that is if it's a DDR board.)

Did a fresh OS install...

Everythings looking better

Installed Ut2003 and played with it a little bit ....very nice. Set it at 1280x1024 and cranked everything in a bot match and didn't drop much below the 50 mark the whole time...felt VERY smooth!

Had 3dlark2kuno on a CD so I ran it, my score looks like what I'd expect...so I think (hope) I've got the low CPU score thing solved:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6626618

Am tired, will resume tommorow....OS installs take it outta me
It is nice to be able to do it in under 30 min from start to finish though

hey...I think the fresh OS install fixed it!!!

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=907929

=I was just using it to compare CPU scores...and this seems to be more in line with what others (with my setup) are getting

All better!

OS install seems to have fixed my Planetside problems too...I connected and kicked ass this morning

guy accross the room from me bought radeon 9700 pro (same as mine), but doesn't use ANY AA or AF. and he plays at 1024x768 on a 17" monitor. i told him "you don't pay this much money for a video card to not use AA/AF"..
