Stupid question about nForce boards...

Do ATi cards function properly with em? Or only Nvidia cards?

ATi cards work just fine with them.. even 8xAGP. Now, never ask such a silly question again or we will taunt you some more!

My Power Cooler Radeon 9500 works fine on the new Cat 3.4's software hacked to a Pro.

Actually, there are a whole lot of people with NForce2 boards who are having bad stuttering problems with all video cards. Unfortunately, I have fallen victim to this with my Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 and my 9700 Pro. Nothing I have been able to do will get rid of the occasional stutter, although selecting 1% Spread Spectrum in BIOS and enabling vsync helped alot. The stutters are driving me back to my old faithful VIA based KT333 board. At least all my games were silky smooth, even if I couldn't run with a 200MHz FSB.

Actually there are a whole lot of people having problems with the specific Asus nForce2 board. My buddy RMA'd last month two of them, one of them for it's second time.

I don't even have an Asus board you twit. It's a Epox 8RDA+.

If the RMA's wouldn't be justified, they wouldn't get replacements.

Now he tells me.

Seriously though, the stuttering is very real with this board, and it happens in ALL my 3d applications. I'm using a 9700 Pro and cats 3.4 or 3.5, and I've adjusted everything humanly possible to try and cure it, including strange forgotten Wango Wango rituals and ceremonial chanting (mostly curses) while tweaking the BIOS. I may have to go the RMA route, but dammit I need this computer. BTW, all other hardware being used worked fine with my old MSI KT7 266a VIA based board, no issues.

Actually the Stutering is probably a SOUND CARD Problem !!

Not your board!

Conflict..................... remove sound card and replace then try.

That's what I thought to, but trying other soundcards or none at all doesn't cure the stutter.

I´d say you contact ASUS support first of all with a detailed description of your hard-/software configurations and the underlying problem and you can see from there on what to do.

I can´t tell if it´s a hardware problem and more specifically the motherboards´ fault from here. But contacting support first above all doesn´t hurt anyone either.
