No you wouldn't. $60 is an awesome price for that drive and none on the list (except maybe the 250 Gb WD) will outperform it. Hell, at that price, I might just go pick me up one too!

no offense or anything, but i dont understand how someone can go through a 40 gig HDD.
i got a 6 and 20 gig with a good amount of games on them, and i still got 8 gigs total free. ![]() |

3 gigs of music, 9 gigs of games, 2 gigs of demo installers, and other app installers, an additional 1.5gigs of installed programs, 2 gigs for windows, 1.5 gigs of stuff under documents and settings, 8 gigs partitioned for installing all teh shit that came w/ comp (no boot disk). 8 gigs free. now wtf... that adds up to 35 gigs.. wheres the other 5 gigs?
the sad thing is i have nothing better to do than add this stuff up |

Roboto, i bought that EXACT Western Digital drive from Fry's last weekend and it was a defect (i think). It made a high pitched noise constantly and made really loud clicking noises when it booted and shut down. I returned it the next day and saw that a Hitachi 160 GB drive (same specs as the WD, just 40 GB more) was there for only 20 bucks more. I just picked the Hitachi one up instead. It's incredibly quiet for the most part, but has these occasional weird noises that are quite loud. It seems fast enough for me.
I would try the Western Digital, cause the one i got was probably just a defective one, but if you have some trouble with it, the Hitachi one is pretty decent too. I would definately avoid any Maxtor drives, as i've had problems with the 2 i just bought recently being slow and loud. |

Probably better deals. When I bought my 120 Gb Western Digital drive it was $80 after all rebates and such. Now they're $60 after rebate.

Like said above, get a 7200 RPM 8Mb cache drive, the largest you can afford.
The Raptor drives are nice but too expensive.
