Thing, The (1982)

Rented it from Netflix. Believe it or not, I had never seen it before.

I think it's an awesome movie. I like how it puts a lot of attention to detail into how they all stop trusting each other and start going crazy. Really does a good job of adding depth and suspense to the movie.

If you've never seen it, it's about:

The team soon realises that an alien life-form with the ability to take over other bodies is on the loose and they don't know who may already have been taken over.
I think I'll buy this one. I also rented Van Helsing and THX1138.

The Thing: Awesome
THX1138: Awesome
Van Helsing: Meh

That the one with Kurt Russel? Yeah it's a good movie.

Original was good, too.

Van Helsing I rented as well, it was ok. I dug teh shit out of the black and whote opening sequence, too bad they didn't hold that level throughout the movie. The back story was interesting with the whole left hand of God thing and his memory being wiped out, probably to hide all the horrible sins he's commited in his work.

Effects were great, but the weaponry was pure shlock, the friggin' suto crossbow was just too much, it threw the balance of the movie off for me. Was worth the two fiddy rental from the local video store and that's about it.

One of my all time favs. Just the whole mood of the movie, not talked a lot about but one hell of a movie.

I wanna get the game, I've heard that it's pretty good and does a good job of expanding the story.

I like The Thing but I do not like it that they ripped off the spiderheads from DOOM III.

the best part was when fat dudes head disconnected and crawled away

oh and the game is kinda cool. tricky controls and some awkward pathfinding but otherwise it's fun to play. it picks up with you being inserted with a team to investigate what happened at the base. i never finished the game tho so i dont know if it gets better or not oh and it does look pretty thats for sure
